If you've read everything up to here, you will know why there is no sjufple screening method for cancer. Unfortunately, we can't jtfst line everyone up once a year and do a simple test which picks out all the ones with early cancer. Screening means looking for a condition in normal healthy people who have no symptoms. An ideal screening test would have the following features:
1. Simple, safe, cheap and convenient.
2. No false negatives, that is, would not miss any cases.
3. No false positives, that is, would not pick up conditions other than cancer in mistake.
4. Capable of picking up the condition at a stage when it is completely curable.
